Governor Taps Talent From Corporate and Public Sector To Infuse Professionalism and Drive Growth in the County

8TH JULY 2018………NANYUKI His Excellency Governor Ndiritu Muriithi has made appointments to several county boards. With this, he infuses his administration with some of the leading competencies and skills from both the public sector and the corporate world.
These appointments were published in the Kenya Gazette last Friday and they reflect a deliberate effort to be brad based, all-inclusive and representative of the cosmopolitan nature of the county.
Centum managing director and chief executive officer, Mr. James Mwirigi Mworia will head the Laikipia County Development Authority as the non-executive chairman.
Together with Mr Mworia on the county development authority board is the Borana Ranch Manager Mr Michael Dyer, Ambassador Mr Johnson Weru, Educationist, Mr Margaret Lesuuda, Lawyer Ms Faith Waigwa and Development Expert Mr Joseph Ngugi Mutura.
A former East Africa Cables chief executive officer and now the chairman of Nyahururu-based Countryside Dairy Mr. George Chege Mwangi will chair the County Enterprise Fund.
Other members of the board are Ms Monicah Masiano Lenanyoke, Mr. Daniel Njoroge Thuo and Mr. Joseph Kariringah Lerina.
Eager to reform the health sector, His Excellency the Governor has brought on board non-medics on three key health institutions. Mr George Kamau Kamatu, a leader and long-serving senior principal in many high schools, will chair the Nyahururu Hospital board. Other members include, Fr Peterson Thumi Kabugi, ms Regina Erupe, Mr Charles Mathenge Kimani, Ms Daisy Chepkoech Cheruiyot, Ms Ann Njoki Kabugi and Ms Caroline Wangechi Wambugu.
The Nanyuki hospital board will be chaired by Mr James Wachira while members will be Mr Peter Gathungu Githehu, Mr James Legei and Ms Rose Wambui Macharia. Others are Ms Halima Kokugonza Saleh, Dr James Gicheru and Mr Dominic Monto.
Mr Sospeter Kipish will chair Doldol hospital board. Other members include Ms Hellen Gathogo, Ms Manaseh Matunge, MsJennifer Kitonga, Ms Anne Kiloku, Mr James Senjura and Mr Peter Gatheru.
The County Budget and Economic Forum Ms Doris Gatwiri Mworia, Mr Johnson Kipkosgei Cheruiyot, Ms Elizabeth Wanjiru Kiondo, Ms Emma Kaburo Kirima and Henry Machira Muguongo, Mr Patrick Leresi Karmushu, Mr David Gathuka Ndiritu and Mr Lemarleni James Ntungulo as members.
The Governor also appointed Christine Lekurtut, Jane Meriwas and Peter Mwangi Mwai members of the county environmental committee.
