Multi Agency Meeting To Strategize On How To Reclaim Stolen Lands In Laikipia County.

Today(17TH October 2018), H.E Governor Ndiritu Muriithi held a multi-agency meeting drawn from National and County government departments of land to strategize on how to reclaim stolen lands in Laikipia County.
It was established that more than 300 parcels of land across the County have been grabbed and the County intends to not only reclaim, but also prosecute rogue land officers and developers.
All grabbed public lands in towns, road reserves and riparian land will be reclaimed and all development in those lands demolished. We also resolved to revoke licenses of developers who committed to using land for development but the land remains dormant for years.
H.E Governor Ndiritu Muriithi said that County government is committed to weeding out corruption in land sector and streamlining management, allocation and utilization of public land in partnership with National government.
Todays meeting brought the following together: County Coordinator National Land Commission, County Land Registrar, County Land Surveyor, County Land Officer, Deputy Director WARMA, County Commissioners Office, CO Water, County Physical Planning Office, and County Land Adjudication and Settlement Officer.
