Creation Of Laikipia Film Industry

Establishment of Laikipia Film Industry is at advance stage after Governor Ndiritu Muriithi approved creation of film directorate, now waiting cabinet approval.
To galvanize these efforts; yesterday March 27, 2019; Laikipia county signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Kenya Film Commission. This agreement offers a platform of engagement with industry players who shall help in nurturing, guiding, and converting talents into entrepreneurs - to viable enterprises.
Speaking at 'Kalasha International TV and Film Market' award, an annual event organised by Kenya Film Commission, Deputy Governor Hon. John Mwaniki urged the Commission, Ministry of Communication, and that of Interior to act decisively with piracy that cripples creative arts.
Crippling of piracy business will be to the advantage of Laikipia's film industry that is poised to be launched soon. Upon cabinet approval, hosted in Trade department, it will be all system go in search of talents and nurturing them to viable businesses towards creation of 30, 000 jobs
