KIMANJO SURGICAL CAMP.

Dates:- 16th to 22nd September, 2019.

Venue:- Kimanjo Sub-County Hospital

DAY ONE: MONDAY, 16TH SEPTEMBER, 2019.

The surgical camp officially started today with many activities lined up for the day.

History was made today as Kimanjo and the larger Laikipia North had its very first case of a major operation conducted at the Kimanjo Sub-County Hospital. There was palpable excitement as the first major surgery case was wheeled out of the theatre at 10:45am after a successful operation that lasted for almost an hour.

The CECM – Dr.Lenai Kamario who officially launched the Surgical camp, witnessed the operation and also received the client after the successful surgery. By the end of the day, a total of eight (8) major surgical cases had successfully been performed. This is a major milestone for Kimanjo Sub-County Hospital and we take this early opportunity to congratulate the facility staff, management committee, the community and the entire support teams for the grand achievement.

It is important to note that all the medical personnel, (General Surgeons, Obstetrician / Gynaecologists, Dental Surgeons, Ophthalmologists, Medical Officers, Anaesthetists, Theatre Nurses, Theatre Assistants, Medical Engineers, Community Oral Health Officers) who conducted the operations are drawn from staff within our County. Senior members of the Health leadership including the Ag.Chief Officer also participated in the operations.

All the other medical conditions were also attended to for free and the Community Health Africa Trust (CHAT), Nanyuki Cottage Hospital and our Beyond Zero Mobile clinic were at hand to support the initiative.

The residents of Kimanjo and its environs are asked to turn up in large numbers and benefit from the free Surgical and medical services brought to them courtesy of the Department of Health – county Government of Laikipia.
