Updated on: Apr 01, 2020
Necessity they say is the mother of invention and in such a time that the world is battling a pandemic, indeed a stitch in time might save nine.
County government of Laikipia through its innovation program has selected some innovators who have been trained in partnership with Dedan Kimathi University to produce personal protective equipment for use during the COVID19 crisis.
Peter Irungu Maina, who is a tailor has undergone training that has equipped him with skills to make protective masks. Together with his team he is working around the clock to produce as many masks as possible to cater for all needs that might arise.
Other tailors have also been trained to produce the various personal protective equipment required by health officials as they handle corona virus cases.
Their work is highly appreciated.
