County Trains 200 Officers To Help Small Businesses Grow

In a bid to revamp the economy of Laikpia County, the government has trained more than 200 of its officers to help small businesses recover from harsh covid-19 environment.
The staffs, drawn from various county departments, are undergoing training to equip them with the requisite knowhow in uplifting business across the county.
Laikipia governor Ndiritu Muriithi says the county is arming her entrepreneurs not only with monetary aid but also necessary skills which will forever remain useful in their operations.
Businesses require money but that is not enough to make them thrive. Most importantly is that they require access to market, which my government is facilitating, said the county head, adding that his government is exploring market in the Central Kenya Economic Bloc.
Entrepreneurs will be facilitated in making business plans, product certification through Kebs, business design and marketing, among other crucial guidelines to help them stand a better chance in the competitive commercial world.
Civil works program is being piloted in Nyahururu town area to warrant demand is stimulated for local products in the county. Its success will see it rolled out extensively across the county.
We want people to have money in their pockets after work so as to increases their purchasing power, said Governor Muriithi.
