NEPAD/APRM Kenya Secretariat Presents The Second Country Peer Review Report To Governor Ndiritu Muriithi

A team from New Partnership for Africa's Development, NEPAD, Kenya chapter led by their Director Mr. Peter Kimemia presented the Africa Peer Review Mechanism APRM today 28 September, 20020.
NEPAD is a socio-economic development programme initiated by African Union that seeks to enhance proper governance through self-assessment and peer review amongst member countries.
Through the APRM framework, using measurable indicators adopted by all the 37 member countries, peer learning is enhanced in areas of: Democracy and Political Governance, Economic Governance and Management, Corporate Governance and Socio-economic Development.
NEPAD representatives encouraged the same peer learning amongst counties. The intention is as NEPAD/APRM Kenya Secretariat, Mr. James Maina, who was representing Permanent Secretary Economic Planning Mr. Torome Saitoti says, Not for competition, but to pick the best practices to replicate elsewhere or upscale.
The county welcomes APRMs Peer Review and Learning assessment, and any other assessment from the citizens or other organizational bodies like senate.
Several counties have visited Laikipia County for benchmarking exercises on various developments like revenue collection, leasing programme, public reforms and staff appraisals.
The NEPAD/APRM secretariat team had: Mr. Peter Kimemia Director, Hon. Elias Mbau - NGC member, Ms. Nimo M. Mohammed- NGC member, NEPAD/APRM Kenya Secretariat, amongst other senior secretariats. Laikipia County Commissioner Mr. Daniel Nyameti read the report from Mr. Torome Sitoti (PS).
