Commencement Of County Senior Management Training On Enterprise Development

Laikipia County senior officials are undergoing a one-week training session on one Enterprise Development Programme.
The government has engaged various experts to take them through this noble exercise.
The session which commenced today September 29, 2020 will see the CEC Members and their Chief Officers acquire the special knowhow to help them and their juniors in facilitating SMEs in the county.
Laikipia government aims at supporting the managers to identify, design and effectively implement enterprise development programs and projects in respective departments or parastatals.
Forty percent of all departments and parastatals' FY20/21 work-plans recently signed-off by H.E. Governor Ndiritu Muriithi constitute enterprise development initiatives.
The training is geared towards creating an enabling business environment by ensuring maximum support to the local businesses.
One of the undertakings Laikipia has adopted is in the slogan, Buy Laikipia, Build Laikipia. The objective is to buy the locally made products produced by Laikipians and challenge other sectors to do the same. The government has been the first consumers of such products.
The training will also help the officials reorient their mindset and believe that local have high quality.
No government exists without development. It is a challenge for all Laikipians to contribute towards this development by buying from local manufacturers.
