Successes: Rehabilitation Of Existing Earth Dams

The department has been able to rehabilitate about 15 earth dams through expanding and removal of accumulated silt. Accumulation of silt reduces dam water holding capacity hence making them not sustainable during the dry season when farmers need water for irrigation .Some of these dams include Nyakinyua,Karungu Bii,Ainamoi,Ndindika,Ndargwiti,Wangwachi small,Gatirima,Minjore among others
