Nyandarua Revenue Taskforce Team Visit Laikipia For Benchmarking

Nyandarua County joins an increasing number of counties visiting Laikipia to learn the best practices in revenue collection. The impressive performance of Laikipia in growing its own local revenue has attracted over 10 counties eager to adopt the same model used in the county.
Nyandarua revenue taskforce led by their chairperson Joseph Kihiko met with their Laikipia counterpart at County Hall, Governors Compound to benchmark on operations and performance of Laikipia County Revenue Board (LCRB).
For financial year 2020/21, the revenue target by LCRB is set at one billion and already the revenue board has collected Ksh.585 million as of 3rd quarter. The revenue team is optimistic that they will achieve the target.
Governor Ndiritu Muriithi when welcoming them emphasized on the need to first understand the needs and financial situation of the public in order to have mutual cooperation with taxpayers. This will improve the efficiency of the team in revenue collection.
