OUTCOMES OF THE INAUGURAL INNOVATION FAIR

As a follow up of a key outcome of our Innovation Fair held in Nyahururu Stadium on 30th and 31st May 2018, together with the CECM Finance and Economic Planning and CECM Trade, Commerce and Cooperatives , H.E the Governor held a meeting with a team from Kenya Climate Innovation Centre comprising of Business Development Experts and a Monitoring and Evaluation Expert.
The Kenya Climate Innovation Centre supports start-ups in;
1. Water Management
2. Energy and 3. Agribusiness.
From the Innovation Fair, they picked 6 Innovations across the range of; 1. Permaculture 2. Organic Fertilizer 3. Organic Pesticide 4. Biogas 5. Energy Saving Jikos and 6. APIBIO - Products from Bee Keeping.
These six innovations will receive a one year incubation, capacity building and financing worth Kenya Shillings 1.5million each to support their innovations.
Indeed this is testimony to the fact that Innovation is a key component of business and enterprise development. This is central to promoting the agenda of manufacturing in our county.
As we continue to realize such outcomes and work hard to recalibrate ideas that are life changing and transformative, we remain committed to the fact that even a good thing can be made better.
