This week H.E Governor Ndiritu Muriithi hosted Turkana and Kiambu Counties who had come for bench marking and peer learning on the Laikipian Model of the Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
The Laikipian Model has been a success and the county is leading the Country in Social Insurance at a coverage of 60% against the national average of 37%. The teams had a chance to meet the Governor and the CECM-Health for a debrief on day one. On the second day, the teams had an ineractve sessions where experiences, challenges, weak and strong points were shared.
An orientation on the Mjali application was also conducted. On the final day of the visit, the teams were taken to the communities to witness the implementation of the programme by our very able Community Health Volunteers (CHVs). We thank and congratulate the CHVs for the good work they are doing in our communities.
While we feel proud to be leading the rest of the country, we believe and will endaevuor to actualise the clarion call by our Governor that 'even a good thing can be made better.'
