Monthly Report March 2018, Laikipia West Sub County
INTRODUCTION
Laikipia west sub-county is one of the three sub-counties administratively divided into three wards, namely Salama ward, Olmoran word and Rumuruti ward. Laikipia sub-county is a low potential agriculturally with an average annual rainfall ranging from 600mm upwards. The form of livelihood is mixed farming, livestock rearing and part producing subsistence crop farming. The sub county population is estimated to be approximate 200000 people.
WATER RESOURCES/SOURCES
The sub-county relies mostly on surface water and underground water services. Rainfall water harvest is done during the rainy seasons. Perennial surface water sources passing through Laikipia west Sub County are Ewaso Narok, Pesi, Suguroi and Mutara Rivers.

Magomano primary school borehole was drilled, awaiting to equipped with pumps, storage tank and distribution lines

Borehole drilled awaiting test pumping, storage tank installation and distribution pipelines
Sipili Special school water supply pumping system repaired
Olmoran water supply burnt out motor replaced
Mahiga water supply draw pipe replaced
Karungubee water supply borehole clogged
