Davina Engineering works is a manufacturing company that is located in Nanyuki town Laikipia county. The company started as a business in 2010 whereby it was dealing with repair and maintenance for both local and imported machinery. In 2014, they manufactured their own machine and since then they have manufactured several machines for value additions, for example multipurpose choppers which have a capacity to produce between 15-20 tons of silage per day and a maize shedder which has a capacity to produce 20-25 bags per hour.
The end product has been tested to be efficient for the users. The machinery is meant to ease the work of the farmers and to make them work smart. This will help the farmers reduce the effort used since part of their work is done by the machinery. As result this will promote production in the farming Sector. The company offers internship programs for the students from the Vocational Training Institute, in additional to that they offer trainings to fresh students at a favourable fee of 80,000 which is payable in three intervals.
Laikipia Innovation program has linked the company to three innovators who required customized machineries like Cinta Foods, Dudu Bio Pesticides and storm water and environment management forum. The program has offered several trainings and linked the company to a larger market country wide through social media and exhibitions. Since the enrolment with innovation program the company has grown vastly, they have been able to hire 15 employees.
