ISOLATION AND TREATMENT OF COVID-19
The department of health Laikipia County has undertaken intense training which is going on in a bid to heighten our health workers preparedness. One of the wards in Nanyuki Teaching and Referral hospital has been converted into an isolation and treatment facility.
Adjustments have been made to respond to this pandemic; entailing reduction of people being allowed into the facility. This is aimed to protect patients, staff and visitors.
There is mandatory screening for everyone visiting the hospital. Efforts will be made to prevent crowding and public gatherings in the hospital.
Patients with flu-like symptoms will be seen separately.
Scheduled clinics have been stopped to give way to emergency visits for refills and remote advice. We know that some category of patients in long-term care are at very high risk of the most severe presentation of COVID-19 if they get infected.
If you are meant to be on self-quarantine at home and you breach that, then we will provide facilities to enforce quarantine at the cost of all inputs we will require to serve you.
All those with appropriate history of travel or contact with a known confirmed case, and have symptoms, will be isolated and treated.
