Absa Banks Injects Ksh. 1.2 Million To Support Laikipia Emergency Fund

Laikipia County Covid-19 Emergency Fund has received yet another boost after Absa bank contributed Ksh 1.2 million to support the food distribution campaign to the vulnerable households exposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The bank joins a growing list of well wishers who have helped strengthen the ongoing food distribution campaign, which targets at helping 40,000 most needy families with food packages to last them for at least month in two phases.
The contribution by Absa will serve to reinvigorate the food subsidy efforts, which is slightly at midway having reached 23,000 households.
Speaking during the presentation of the Ksh 1.2 million cheque at the Governors office today, the Absa Mt. Kenya Regional Manager Arnold Ndungi reiterated the organizations full support to such governments noble programmes.
As and enterprise we will offer our unwavering support to the business people and the government as we have a track record of doing so said Mr. Ndungi, while urging people to observe the Ministry of Health guidelines on keeping safe.
On his part, Governor Ndiritu Muriithi thanked all those who have supported the programme to ensure no Laikipian goes hungry.
I take this opportunity to thank Absa bank for their kind donations and all other well-wishers who have made it possible to feed the 23,000 needy people in our county, he said.
