AMREF DONATES PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENTs (PPEs) TO THE DEPARTMENT.
Updated on: Sep 29, 2020
The County Department of Health has received a donation of Personal Protective Equipments and Medical Supplies from AMREF.
Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs) are protective clothing, goggles or other garments or equipment designed to protect the user's (Health Care Workers & Community Health Volunteers)) body from injury or infection in the course of duty.
During the Covid 19 pandemic, the acronym PPEs has become regularly used and is often followed by the descriptive word Shortages. Thanks to the donation and from other well wishers, Laikipia shall have PPEs without this infamous adjective.
The Consignment worth over 10 Million was handed over by the AMREF Technical Team to the CECM Health and the CHMT in a brief ceremony held at the Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital.
This is additional to capacity building of Health Care Staff and Community Health Volunteers, Support on Laboratory Testing, support on the Incident Command Centre and other Community level engagements
The County Department of Health wishes to convey its many thanks for this generous support and also appreciate the partnership with AMREF.
The Department wishes to remind all to continue observing MOH and Government Guidelines for containment of Covid 19 as we already have ongoing local transmission within our communities.
