Consultative Meeting With Land Buying Companies

The CS Lands Farida Karoney and land Ministry delegation in patnership with the Laikipia county Government held a consultatitive meeting with Directors of various land buying companies to further narrow down the process of issuing over 40, 000 titles in Laikipia in the next 90 days.
In the meeting held at Social Hall Nanyuki, it was resolved that in the next three months, the Ministry of Lands through the National Land Commission, and in partnership with Laikipia County government, through Special project team, will establish the genuine land owners from various land buying companies and ready their titles in three months.
To fast track the process, the land Ministry will foot the bills of surveyors who will streamline the border questions in the already sold lands. Also, lease rates in rural areas especially agricultural meant will be wavered and converted to freehold.
But to permanently solve the land question, Nanyuki land registry will be expanded and digitized while Rumuruti land registry will be gazetted and equally digitized to avail land services closers to Laikipians in the North.
The county government of Laikipia under the Leadership of Governor Ndiritu Muriithi is committed an enhanced war against the land cartels who have grabbed over 700 public utilities in the County where the National government through the County Commissioner Onesmus Kyatha promised partnership approach in these efforts.
