Public Health Officers Meetings
The County Department of Health has reorganized the Public Health Unit using the Community Health strategy to enhance the quest for achievement of Universal Health Care.
The County Population will be grouped into villages comprising two hundred households to be taken care by a Community Health Volunteer (CHV). They will then be grouped into ten villages to form a Community Health Unit (CHU). This unit shall be served by one Public Health Officer who shall also supervise the ten CHVs manning the villages within the CHU. All the Basic Health Services shall therefore be offered within the communities.
The department recently held meetings across the County to orient the Public Health Officers on this development.
They were also guided on how to develop Individual Work Plans being part of the Governor's push to revamp the County Public Service.
