County Staff Training To Help Growth Of SMEs

Nanyuki, 18 September 2019About 40 staff of the County Government of Laikipia are undergoing training to enable them hand hold small and medium enterprises in the county.
The two-day training is targeting staff in the County Department of Trade and Agriculture where most of the 205 SMEs in the Laikipia Innovation Programme fall.
They will be equipped with an understanding of the business advisory services, a business tool to assist the small medium enterprises (SMEs) and also how to utilize and adopt the Business Advisory services.
The skills are expected to impact on the farmers, business owners and other innovators at all stages of their innovations.
Innovation allows organizations to stay relevant in the competitive market, it also plays an important role in economic growth.
The innovation programme seeks to expand the SMEs for county economy to create more jobs and uplift the quality of life in the county.
The trained county staff will offer business advisory services like how to keep business record, how to write a business plans, business registration, branding among other things.
The targeted innovations are going to avail immense commercial benefits in form of creating more business/job opportunities, attraction of more investors to the county which is going to enhance efficiency of production and also promoting industrialization as one of the National Governments agenda and fulfil the Governors manifesto.
